Primary DNS & Custom Domain Name Registration
Pacific Bell Internet Services provides optional Custom Domain Name registration and Primary DNS service as a part of its Enhanced DSL Internet product. Each one of these individual options is $100. Please note that the Custom Domain Name registration does not include InterNIC subscription fees.
Should you choose to register your Custom Domain Name (mycompany.com) with Pacific Bell Internet Services, it can be used:
- To set up your own web server at your location
- To set up your own e-mail server at your location
(This gives you customized e-mail addresses - myname@mycompany.com)
Enhanced customers who order the optional Primary DNS service and Custom Domain Name registration are not required to also order Pacific Bell Internet Service's Web Hosting product. Should you choose to use your Custom Domain Name and Primary DNS service in conjunction with your own e-mail or web server, please be aware that the support of your own equipment falls outside of Pacific Bell Internet Services' technical support boundaries.
Pacific Bell Internet offers Web Hosting Services so that you do not have to purchase and maintain your own servers and equipment. What Are Primary DNS and Custom Domain Name Registration Used For? These optional services enable you to set up your own e-mail or web servers at your own premise or elsewhere. With them, you'll be able to have a custom e-mail address, such as myname@mybusiness.com. Likewise, your web site address would be www.mybusiness.com. Once you have these two services, you can then establish your own e-mail and/or web servers.

No. You should register with the ISP where your e-mail is hosted.
